Frequently Asked Questions
Women’s Mental Health Counselling Calgary
What issues do you support women with in counselling?
We support women across many stages of life, including concerns related to anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, relationship challenges, parenting, life transitions, identity, and more. We also specialize in women’s health concerns such as pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, and perimenopause. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply not like yourself, counselling can provide a supportive space to explore what’s going on.
How can counselling help during pregnancy or postpartum?
Pregnancy and postpartum can bring emotional, physical, and identity shifts. Counselling can help you navigate anxiety, mood changes, intrusive thoughts, relationship adjustments, and the transition into motherhood. It can also provide space to process your experience—especially if it hasn’t felt how you expected.
I just had a baby and can’t come in-person. Can I still access counselling?
Absolutely. We understand that after having a baby, leaving home for appointments isn’t always realistic or desirable. KM Counselling offers secure virtual sessions, allowing you to access support from the comfort of your home, on a schedule that works for you and your baby.
What support is available for perimenopause or hormonal changes?
Hormonal shifts during perimenopause can impact mood, sleep, anxiety levels, and overall wellbeing. Counselling offers support in understanding these changes, managing emotional symptoms, and navigating this life stage with greater clarity and self-compassion.
Why Choose KM Counselling for women’s counselling?
Choosing KM Counselling for women’s counselling means working with female psychologists who understand that women’s experiences are shaped by complex and often overlapping factors.
At KM Counselling, we believe support should feel both practical and meaningful. Alongside insight and reflection, we focus on helping you build sustainable tools, strengthen self-understanding, and create meaningful change that aligns with your values. Whether you’re navigating a specific challenge or simply sensing that something could feel better, counselling can offer clarity, direction, and a space that is truly your own.
